Spook Sister and I went junkin' the other day and found some wonderful items for the adult Halloween party. For those of you that don't know what junkin' is, it is when you go to thrift store, garage sales, flea markets and some antique shops looking for hidden treasures. Mine came in the form of silver plated serving dishes. I got three this time and just KNOW that they will accent the table nicely. We both agree that we need to hit several of the other places in town. Although for some reason I have it in my head that I HAVE to have cake pedestals now. Don't know why but I have been looking for them everywhere now. I have even found a few but there is no way I am going to pay more than $30 for one. Don't care how old it is.
I think we are going for a shabby chic look for the adult party. Old silver, black, white and clear glass seems to be the predominate scheme so far. We have also had a few taste testings for the drink menu. Kind of glad we have been doing that since one or two of the drinks that we picked out are down right disgusting.
We are starting to get the carnival planned out now. Some games had really been giving us problems on how to properly set them up but I think we have some of them nailed down now. Now if the temperatures here would go down ( 100+ degree days really aren't helping) maybe we can get out there and crank up the power tools.
